District Narowal is full of hardworking artisans, who are working in the small market of Narowal .They are tend to sell their products in their home town at low prices because community has low purchasing power and those who take their hand made products to boutiques in metropolitan cities earn a very nominal price. After conducting a base line survey in Narowal and identifying the need to cater the market trends and to develop the handmade product business a source of earning MOJAZ Foundation has established a women empowerment centre to train women the latest skills to meet bigger market trends. Women are trained in different types of skills, market linkages were created so that they can earn well from their hard work. Women empowerment centre trains women artisans to learn and improve their skills. Women are trained free off cost in form of batches. These ladies were trained in sewing, hand embroidery, fabric painting and handicrafts making.
Further for the creation of market linkages display centers have been established, to sell their products at market rates. MOJAZ has planned even better economic opportunities for these women artisans by arranging Micro Melas (exhibitions) at city and national level; which served as a platform to have an access to even bigger markets. These women artisans are also provided with micro financing facility on soft terms and conditions for enterprise development so these hardworking women can become an active part of society.
