MOJAZ Foundation under its Agri-business window focuses to provide farmers and farmer groups with demand-driven technical and managerial services to improve their productivity, competitiveness and income in the local communities.

Tunnel Farming

Along with enhanced access to Microcredit, MOJAZ Foundation focuses on capacity building of communities through innovation, training and business support services particularly in livelihood sector.

In District Narowal most of the farmers are reliant on traditional subsistence farming mainly cultivation of wheat and some rice as a cash crop. They are reluctant to adopt any modern practices. PPAF supported MOJAZ Foundation to help low income farmers to adopt the new technology through “SHDAB” project. The project aims at introducing high value horticulture crops in the district through the provision of subsidized farm inputs, technical assistance and grants. The main focus on vegetable for the first phase e.g. green chillies, sweet pepper, cucumber and other off season vegetables through Tunnel Farm Technology.

MOJAZ Foundation has launched this program in 11 Union Councils simultaneously. PPAF has awarded the amount of PKR 3.9 million to support the establishment of demonstration plots for research and development as well as access to financing. The project is intended for the establishment of 10 Agri based medium and small enterprises through grants and loans program.
